What to expect from a roof survey
Most roof survey/inspections take around two hours to complete, but this depends on the size of the property. The roof surveyor checks each section in detail, before sharing their findings on the following:
-
Roof coverings, including the type, condition and defects
-
The state and condition of flashings
-
Chimney stack, pointing, flaunchings and pots
-
Guttering system and its ability to drain a roof
-
Parapet walls and their brickwork, render and capping
-
Any skylights present; assessing the chance of a leak
-
The roofline, including fascias, soffits and bargeboards
-
The internal roof structure, checking for signs of stress
Your roof surveyor will provide an estimate for any work they recommend, and when it might be needed.
